Can we just take a minute to appreciate how awesome these leggings I bought yesterday are? The print is called “Super Bitches”. I think we all know who these ladies are meant to look like. They are perfect.
okay so why is everyone not freaking out about Batgirl Beyond
a new batgirl — as in, batgirl, and not barbara gordon
who is a woman of color, i might add
created by the team of the fantastic annie wu and the brilliant scott peterson
(not that scott peterson, the comics one — whose name was in print well before the other guy)
yes, the scott peterson who created cass cain and wrote the first oracle solo story
(and, i gotta say, she looks freaking kickass)
(no, seriously, check out that costume)
Because I had no idea!

The coolest thing happened today! We went to check the signing schedule at the DC panel this morning, and who do I see on the list? Bryan Q. Miller! I had no idea he was going to be there, so I frantically searched the comic boxes in the dealers hall for something he could sign. Luckily, I found a copy if Batgirl #16 for 50cents. So I took it to get him to sign it, and fan girlishly told him that it was my favorite book ever. So then he says, “You know what, I don’t know if you have the trades already, but since you’re dressed as Stephanie I’ve got this one here in my bag for you.” So I ended up with a signed copy of Batgirl #16 and vol 2 The Lesson! Nicest guy ever!
Yay finally! Here is that picture I teased a few days ago.
I knew when this photo was being taken that I wanted to make a comic book cover out of it. So here is the result. :D
Photography by Peter Roig.
Photoshop and Vectors by me. Only ones I did not make are the DC vector and the barcode. Though, I did change the date on it.
Obviously, March 2013 is the date in which I made this, but why 27, you ask? Well firstly, I wanted a number in Steph’s run that didn’t exist. I figured if her book had continued then maybe this could be part of the next arc. Secondly, 27 is the day of the month I was born on. :)
So what do you guys think? Would you read this?

Can anyone tell me the name of the font (or of a similar font) that DC uses for the credits (the writer and artist) on all their covers?
I found both Steph’s Batgirl and Spoiler Heroclix figures on ebay, and I can get them both for about $5. I’m trying to decide whether I should or not. A lot of the Heroclix paintjobs are pretty bad (particularly in characters whose eyes are exposed). But then again, these may be (aside from the action figure which I have) the only Steph figures there will ever be.
So whatcha think? Should I buy?
So I’ve been sick for the past week, but I’ve been meaning to post this. Last Saturday I went to ALA, and this was all I bought. Dealer’s room was tiny and didn’t have much of interest, but the artist alley was great. And yes, ALA is an anime convention, but comics were very much present in the artist alley. (yay!)
I squealed over this bag (it’s double sided), and the artist gave me the Steph phone charm for free because she liked my Batgirl costume! :D Only thing that could make this bag any cooler is Damian. ;)
Here is the artist’s link if you’re interested: http://mukeiroyalty.deviantart.com/
And then Sonia outdoes me… XD
Seriously, though, I love them! I was going to do something with that other photo, but I didn’t even want to touch it with GIMP. Haha.
